When you feel hopeless, the best thing you can do is pray.
But what to pray? If you turn any of the following Bible verses into a prayer, and include it with your own prayers, it will benefit you greatly.
“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.”
Psalms 36:9-10 NIV
Let’s turn this verse into a prayer:
Thank you Father that through you I access to the fountain of life. Help me to see the light of hope through you. Please continue to love me, even as I strive to know you better. Plant your righteousness in my heart and restore my hope.
Now you try!
“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”
Isaiah 66:13 NIV
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”
John 10:28-29 NIV
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?””
John 11:25-26 NIV
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
John 14:1-3 NIV
“The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live”
John 14:17-19 NIV
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NIV
